Côtes du Rhône - Red - 1998 - Domaine Le Puy du Maupas
Grape-variety : Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault
Maturation : Traditional vinification with temperature controlled vatting (between 25 and 32 °C) for at least eight days.
Ageing : To be enjoyed now, will reach its fullness in 2 to 3 years time.
Tasting : Beautiful ruby robe with light purple glints.
Complex nose with rich aromas of red fruits of the undergrowth.
Balanced and round in mouth, aromas of red fruits can be noticed as well as mild tannins.
Matching wines and Dishes : This Côtes du Rhône will match a recipe from the south : braised beef à la gardianne.
     
Côtes du Rhône - Red - 1997 - Amélie
Grape-variety : Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault
Maturation : A traditionally made wine. Fermentation under controlled temperatures for about 15 days. Left to mature in oak barrels.
Ageing : Can be enjoyed now or left to reach it's full maturity in 3 - 5 years.
Tasting : Vibrant dark red in colour with light brown glints.Rich smelling, a combination of spices, scrubland and soft berry fruits.
Distinctive flavour enhanced by the sweet taste of both red and black berries.
Matching wines and Dishes : The ideal wine to be served with grilled partridge and fresh vegetables.
     
Côtes du Rhône - White - 2002 - Isabelle
Grape-variety : Grenache blanc, clairette, marsanne, ugni-blanc
Maturation : Traditional vinification with vatting under 20 °C without malolactic fermentation.
Maturation in oak barrels for six months.
Ageing : To be enjoyed now.
Tasting : Nice yellow robe with light green glints. Powerful nose with fresh aromas of white-fleshed fruits (peach, apple). Pleasant and balanced mouth with a nice structure. One discovers nice aromas of peach, apricot and white flower, the tannins are rather mild in spite of the maturation in oak barrels. A rich and powerful wine.
Matching wines and Dishes : A success in gastronomy with salmon steaks à la florentine.
     
Côtes du Rhône - Red - 1990 - Cuvée Prestige
Grape-variety : Syrha, grenache
Maturation : Fermentation period of about 15 days. The wine is then left to mature in oak barrels for 12 months.
Ageing : Can be enjoyed immediately.
Tasting : Very dark in colour, almost black. Needs to be uncorked and left to breathe in order to appreciate fully the slightly woody aroma (smokey, vanilla).
A generous, full-flavoured wine with refreshing hints of cherry and kirsch.
Matching wines and Dishes : The perfect wine to accompany a roast beef en croûte in it's sauce chasseur (a red wine and herb sauce).
     
Côtes du Rhône Villages - Red - 2000 - Domaine Le Puy du Maupas
Grape-variety : Grenache, syrah, carignan, mourvèdre
Maturation : Traditional vinification with temperature controlled vatting for about fifteen days.
Ageing : To be enjoyed now, will reach its fullness in 3 to 5 years time.
Tasting : Intense and shining cherry coloured robe.
Pleasant nose, full of aromas of red fruits of the forest.
Beautiful mouth with a frank and elegant attack, one notices small red and black fruits with floral and balsamic touches. Nice long and harmonious finish.
Matching wines and Dishes : This wine will go with waterfowl, choose braised duck in red wine.
